Pronounced as “hooga,” hygge is a concept that is hard to define but involves taking a break from daily busyness to connect with loved ones or enjoy peaceful moments, relishing life’s simple joys.
In designing the interior of this home in Vancouver, Canada, our aim was to create a cozy atmosphere by embracing the hygge philosophy. Earthy tones and natural materials were key in the color scheme, promoting feelings of tranquility and happiness.
The focal point of the living area was the fireplace, which added a rustic touch and provided warmth during colder times.
Each room’s design took inspiration from natural elements like the sea, forest, and desert, weaving together a cohesive story that offered unique sensory experiences.
Overall, the design aimed to establish a sanctuary where residents could relax, recharge, and appreciate life’s little pleasures.
All furniture was carefully chosen based on the client’s favorite stores and budget considerations.
